Theo-ology

So it’s official.  With today’s announcement, Theo Epstein is now the President of Baseball operations.  What I enjoyed most about his press conference was that he said it will take time to get the Cubs to the World Series.  Something I fear though is that Cubs fans will expect an immediate turn around.  That would be difficult for anyone.  Not only does Theo have to bring in his own people to run the baseball side of the Cubs organization, he has to deal with the mess left by Jim Hendry (multiple bad contracts and a manager that should never have been hired).  As a life long Cubs fan, I too would love to have the Cubs be contenders next year, or the year after that but it just isn’t likely that that will happen.  Theo and Cubs definitely have a long road ahead of them that will be filled with plenty of obstacles.  However, Theo is battle tested and is the best man for the job.  He is not just some prodigy, he has 2 World Series Championships under his belt with another team thought to have been cursed.  If he can bring a championship to the Cubs, he could be considered the greatest baseball GM of all time.  So to all you die-hard Cubs fans, I beg of you be patient and good things will come.
