Fab Melo ruled ineligible for NCAA Tournament

You may need to make some changes to your NCAA Tournament brackets after hearing this news. Syracuse’s star 7 -foot center, Fab Melo, has been ruled ineligible for the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse has only said the suspension is due to an “eligibility issue.” They are not giving any more details at this time because of federal student privacy laws. Melo also missed time earlier this season due to academic issues.
This is a huge loss for Syracuse as they are clearly a different team without him. In games that Melo has missed this season, the Orange are averaging about 14 less points per game. Syracuse suffered their only regular season loss, to Notre Dame, when Melo was out. The Orange can still make a deep run in the tournament, but it just became much more difficult.
